DB connection signals

Meridius has asked for the wisdom of the Perl Monks concerning the following question:

Is there any way to handle signals when there is a db connection failure?
I have a idle daemon process which has an inactive db connection. When the connection is lost it should catch the signal to reset the connection.

Signal handling is done with the %SIG hash; see http://perldoc.perl.org/perlvar.html#%25SIG. Also maybe do some reading in perlipc.	[reply]
