You are only as good as your tools, "\t" is one that shouldn't be neglected.
You might be right on all your arguments (solomonically spoken), here you are wrong. A "\t" isn't a tool, it's material, if anything. I use it a lot in regular expressions ;-)

Tabs, spaces, whatever - having an editor which DTRT (and that's even vi on good ol' SunOS4, though not on early HPUXen) I simply adapt to what style's at hand. Just keep yourself flexible and focus on the real problems in life ;-)

BTW - I never ever try to impose my personal preferences on others, be that by ways of persuasion, argument, or force.
