How do I display/print math equations?

Anonymous Monk has asked for the wisdom of the Perl Monks concerning the following question:

Need to show standard notation for: x to the power of y, n-th root of x, some greek letters sigma, beta, gamma etc.

This isn't really a Perl question, but I would suggest writing it in LaTeX and then converting to HTML with a utility like LaTeX2HTML or ThT. If you have never encountered LaTeX, then you may want to grab LyX to get an easy to use interface.	[reply]

If you're looking to put math on the web, take a look at MathML. It's not very widely supported at the moment, but that should change.	[reply]
