Anonymous Monk has asked for the wisdom of the Perl Monks concerning the following question:

Hi Monks, I'm trying to extract any text and hyperlinks from swf files.
I've looked at SWF::Element and SWF::Parser, but I'm not sure if they'd give me what I want, nor exactly how to use them to extract text and hyperlinks.
Can someone show any sample code to do this, or is there something that would do this better?

To extract text and links, you might be able to use mod_swf2html. It incorporates the Macromedia Flash Search Engine SDK into Apache2. It'll return the text and links in HTML format; however, it is alpha. See:

    mod_swf2html
