Depends on what system functions that you need and what platform you are running. I am on linux and only have experience with those modules. Here is a short list of what I have found useful in the past: Linux::Statistics, Sys::Filesystem::Linux, Linux::Meminfo, Linux::Stat, Env::Bash just to name a few.
