Huh???, You are ~~wrong~~ mistaken. PCRE is in fact a stand alone project that had nothing to do with the PHPatchwork other than PHP decided to use lpcre since they couldn't find a shell script to do it. PCRE was in fact created as a Perl Compatible Regular Expressions library for C
