Thanks for the tips. But CVS gives me the same error, and all BADVAL lines are left as the default =>0. Oh well, probably some oddball error in my system.

But CVS gives me the same error Well ... at least the bug has now been reported, so someone might be able to fix it. It's conceivable that it's a MakeMaker bug, so you might find success by upgrading/downgrading your ExtUtils::MakeMaker installation. (No guarantees, of course :-) Cheers, Rob	[reply]

I'm an inciteful idiot, with lots of luck - except when it comes to anything useful (like winning lotteries :-) I know that there's one PDL porter in particular who regularly checks the rt.cpan.org bug reports - so please update your bug report to save him unnecessary grief.
