Stamp_Guy has asked for the wisdom of the Perl Monks concerning the following question:

I need a quick way to get the image dimensions for images people upload via a form on my web site. It is too much trouble to constantly explain how they can do it, so I need a way to automate it. Any ideas?

    Hey Stamp_Guy!
I searched the CPAN with the two words in your question title (okay, minus the last 's'), and surprise! here's Image::Size.

(allright, I also admit that I have this module installed for a while on my box too :)

The format recognized by this module are:

    • GIF
    • JPG
    • XBM
    • XPM
    • PPM family (PPM/PGM/PBM)
    • PNG
    • TIF
    • BMP

If you plan to use other formats, Image::Magick handles tons of other format, but is also more expensive on resource.
