avo has asked for the wisdom of the Perl Monks concerning the following question:

Hi Monks, I would like to work with the data from BDE (Borland Database Engine). I couldn't find DBD for BDE. Any suggestions ? All feedback is highly appreciated!

I have not ever used BDE, but I suspect the answer is ODBC. A Super Search for 'ODBC' should turn up some useful discussions about using ODBC in general. I don't remember seeing anything about BDE, so you may need to resort to outside web searches to find out if anybody has documented use of BDE with ODBC, if there is nothing in the BDE documentation/FAQs.

You can always enquire on the DBI users mailing list. Very friendly people, and virtually all the DBI/DBD experts (meaning: the people who develop the DBD drivers) keep an eye on it.
