You need Perl 5.6 with the interpreter threads option active when you
build it. Get Activestate's distribution -- it's got what you need
and very little hassle.
Except that the emulation for fork() in Win32 Perl 5.6.0
is still experimental and, for me at least, extremely easy
to break. I wouldn't recommend using it for anything you
considered important.
