Kateveronica has asked for the wisdom of the Perl Monks concerning the following question:

Hey Monks, Have a very basic question: I downloaded Active PERL on my windows computer. I need to install a CPAN module called Statistics-Descriptive-2.6. I downloaded it from the CPAN website, but Winzip didīt untar it. HOw do I untar the file so that I can install it? This is more of a windows question than a perl question. Sorry about that :) Thanks!

    start->run->ppm

    It installed flawlessly on my windows box with a search for 'statistics', a right click and a left click.

      Hey Paul, You are right. I was making it much more complicated than necessary. Now an even more basic question: I need to put the package in to a directory on my desktop. I have never used windows so am not familiar with command-line language and teh drag and click from ppm didnīt seem to cut it. How do I actually ACCESS teh module I have just downloaded to save it in a desktop file? Thank you!
