All of the following datasource strings work:

for SQLServer Express 2005: 'dbi:ODBC:Driver={SQL Server};SERVER=.\SQLExpress;'
for SQLServer 2005: 'dbi:ODBC:Driver={SQL Server};SERVER=123.123.123.123;'
DSN-based: 'dbi:ODBC:DSN=mydsn1'

Perhaps you might try upgrading your perl.

Thanks for the quick response. I kind of did that. I upgraded to perl 5.8.8 and I am using the Win32::SqlServer module and all is well. Thanks again!	[reply]
