DBIC::Schema -- no tables found

madison.sacd has asked for the wisdom of the Perl Monks concerning the following question:

Dear Monks,

I am a beginner of Catalyst.
I am trying to create a data model with schema helper.

The environment of my computer:

Windows xp
MySql database 5.0
ActivePerl 5.8.8
Catalyst 5.69

I used the following command:

myapp_create.pl model MyModel DBIC::Schema MySchema create=static "dbi:mysql:test:localhost:3307" root 1234

The schema helper can access MySql database successfully. However, another problem happened, no tables found. Actually, I have two tables in the database.

The message is like this:

No tables found in database, nothing to load at C:/Perl/site/lib/DBIx/
+Class/Schema/Loader/Base.pm line 443.
Dumping manual schema for MyappDB to directory C:\Perl\site\bin\MyApp\
+lib ...
C:\Perl\site\bin\MyApp\lib/MyappDB.pm exists, will not overwrite
Schema dump completed.

I have tried to install MySQL version 4.1 but the situation was same.

What should I do?

Unfortunately, I don't have a direct answer for you. But, in order to try and diagnose the error, try the following: Make sure DBIx::Class::Schema::Loader is up-to-date (version 0.03009) Fix your connect string. the proper syntax is: `dbi:mysql:database=$database;host=$hostname;port=$port` (at least according to the DBD::mysql docs) See if those help you at all... -- "Go up to the next female stranger you see and tell her that her "body is a wonderland." There have been a couple similar reports to the DBIC mailing list recently. Brandon Black has released a new version of DBIx::Class::Schema::Loader (0.03010 -- link will work soon) which might fix your problems. -- "Go up to the next female stranger you see and tell her that her "body is a wonderland."
