in reply to information about maypole packages

Hi revs, I don't know where you get information about Maypole, but simple search on CPAN gave me that URL, and search on Google gave me Maypole Homepage. Just FYI, Catalyst is commonly viewed as Maypole successor.

Speaking about both modules, we're talking about a framework in building a web-based applications in Perl, specifically using the so-called MVC (model view controller) pattern. And in CPAN, you can find more solutions which vary in many ways. Just to name a few, they are but not limited to CGI::Application, CGI::Prototype, Gantry, CGI::Builder. You may find the following links give you more or less comparative information among them:

If this is too much for you, you may also start with CGI or CGI::Simple. And if you really just start yourself in this web/CGI programming here is a good place to find some tutorials: Web Programming Tutorials. Good luck :-)
