Perl Debugger

Yoda has asked for the wisdom of the Perl Monks concerning the following question:

Hello all

Everyone wants something for nothing. Please don't slam me to bad on this question.

The instructor of my class is looking for a freeware Perl IDE for Windoze. Does anyone no of such a beast? The class was using PerlBuilder demo for 30 days. I know perl has it's own debug mode, but we are talking about non-programmers who would have a hard time using "perl -d".

Have a look at Komodo from ActiveState. It's a cross-platform IDE for scripting languages, including Perl, Python, and JavaScript. It's currently in development, but it is definitely usable on Windows.	[reply]

I actually downloaded this and used it. Not to bad, but its still a little kludgy. Another inconvenience is that you have to download ActiveState Python as well, to even use it. Hope you have a lot of disk space and memory, as its going to use a lot of both. TStanley In the end, there can be only one!	[reply]

What, the best IDE for doing Perl is not written in Perl, but rather in Python? That is ironic.	[reply]
