Thank you so much for your help. You are a complete star, this programming lark is messing with my head!!!

Can you tell me what would be wrong if I continued using this script. Only it took me ages to configure it all and it seems to work ok?

      many thanks
Flattery will get you nowhere :-)

there's the ChangeLog but it's not particularly helpful. Most entries point to documentation updates, but some entries don't clarify what's been changed at all.

Probably some bugs have been fixed, and possibly some security issues. There might be serious issues with your old script, but I'm not sure.

Anyway it's likely you can just copy the configuration section of your old script to the new version. If it doesn't work you can either ask here for more help, or just use the old version.

Although it's still widely used (provided by many ISP's for example), FormMail is widely deprecated, for the proverbial (security) holes through which one could drive the proverbial truck.

On the other hand, London Perlmongers (check them out at http://london.pm.org/ and nms have provided a vastly improved alternative, TFmail... and its documentation and setup are -- IMO -- easier to follow for a newcomer.

        Enjoy your "programming lark!"
