That's pretty cool. On a related note, anyone know where to get the raw data used to create the original images? Or if it's even reasonable or possible to get that data? Or what format it'd be in?

UPDATE: er, no, I wasn't looking for images at all actually. Although, it would appear you can work backwards from the images to a certain extent. If these data were collected with public dollars, why do you have to pay to get the raw data? Suppose I want to study it and not just rely on the images someone else generated? I doubt you can get the data for free, I was just wondering if someone knew otherwise.

Many government orgs are very open these days, the images alone are a huge step, so you never know.

    Hey i know its a little late to the game but it looks like you can get the data here http://www.nws.noaa.gov/tg/rpccds.html its also got links to the formats the data are in, looks like a fun job to make a module for.
