I have never set one up at code.google.com before either, but here it is: http://code.google.com/p/monk-search/ -- it seems easy to use so far. What is your google ID so that I can add you?

Standard CPAN distro sounds like a plan.

I can certainly play the role :-)... The gory back end stuff will have to fall to you -- although I hope to learn more about KinoSearch's inner workings by the time we have something usable.

I will create a "brain-dump" wiki page and we can derive the list of components and stuff we need to do from there. The first order of business will of course be to decide how and what to index. We will probably also want to use 0.20?

I'm also interested in helping. As a reference, I'm just playing around with Jifty and KinoSearch combination for a while, and I'm very very happy with KinoSearch 0.20 features and performance. It might also be useful to create compressed archive of all XML pages on PerlMonks for other search engine enthusiasts :-) 2share!2flame...	[reply]

Your original notion was right on the money: this material is well-suited for full-text search. A stock KS install, simply adapting the KS sample apps for the additional fields, and you'd be in business. We will probably also want to use 0.20? Yeah, definitely. Groovy. I've successfully checked out from the svn repository via https. I'll wait for you to set up `trunk` like a module distro. If you haven't got a name you prefer for the base module namespace over "MonkSearch", that would be my suggestion. BTW, I just had a glance at the code in your CPAN distros, and your stuff look great.
