cosmicperl has asked for the wisdom of the Perl Monks concerning the following question:

Hi All,
I've been planning on making a common module that utilizes one of these programs depending on what modules are available and a preference list. So you wouldn't need to code separately for each. Only basic stuff at first. But it dawned on me that with a bit of luck someone had already done this?? Cant find anything on CPAN myself... But I'm sure someone here would know

Thanks

P.S. Anyone know what a good name for this module might be, Image::?????

I consider image resizing to be "basic stuff". That task is horrendously laborious in GD unlike in ImageMagick. There is Image::Resize module (for GD) which may or may not have the same semantics as in ImageMagick. So, please keep that in mind for your wrapper.
