Well, lately there has been a ton of discussion about that possible Perl programming book fund for those less fortunate and that is an awesome idea thanks to Brother Dep's idea and all of the replies and follow-ups to that as well! I just had an additional thought for this idea and many have probably already have thought about this idea as well, but I will voice it. If this book fund does get started, will someone or a network of people from here at the monastery create a website that has all of the information located on it to find out how to either a)get a book or 2, b)be a part of the fund, or c) help out by donating books and/or money. I don't know, it's just an idea to think about...

      From Brother dep's previous article:

I think what this all boils down to is that I'm going to have to get a domain name registered (my current ISP sucks rocks and the domain name service i use tries real hard but manages to be out of service a lot of the time). I'm moving soon, and in that process, will wind up with big bandwidth and a few static IP's. Then it just comes down to hacking out the CGI/HTML to do it. At the moment I've been working on real piddly stuff, but buying a book or two on CGI would enable me to come up with a site or sub-site that would allow me to:
      • accept book donations
      • list just which books I have to send out
      • provide some mechanism for getting in touch with schools
      • give me something to index on the relevant search engines out there.

I other words; I dont think theres much brother dep doesn't already have thought out :)
