gandalfrat has asked for the wisdom of the Perl Monks concerning the following question:
Does anyone know of any specific limitations for iTunes reading ID3 tags generated by MP3::Tag?
Before I modify an MP3 with MP3::Tag, iTunes can read it. After modification of ID3v1 and/or ID3v2 tags in the MP3 file, iTunes sees no tagging information at all.
The MP3::Tag POD has reference to setting a config Item called id3v23_usync to FALSE for iTunes. This seems to have no effect on iTunes (iTunes 7.0, 7.1 or 7.2).
Modified MP3 tag information displays properly in WinXP file properties and in a freeware ID3v1/v2 tag editor.
Thanks for any advice you can offer. GR
