When a user hits the submit (a) calculate the amount of data to be transferred (b)store this number somewhere in the target (c) have a page 'status.cgi' which AUTO REFRESH every minute (d) this page calculates the target data and displays the status (percentage completion or time remaining) hope it helps, cheers, perl_fan
