an you plz see if there is at least one match which will be false for this check. last if ($date ne $datewant); i.e there is at least one case where there is $date and $datewant are equal

I am not sure what you are getting at here. When reading this particular directory, there will be both files in which the date will match and files in which the date will not match.	[reply]
