I am trying to install perl 5.8 on windows2003 server. Do I have to reboot after the installation? Thanks

    Your installer may set/change some environment variables. These won't be seen by already-running processes. Otherwise, no, there shouldn't be any need to reboot.

    From an admin perspective this isn't a good question. If the server is in production you don't fiddle with it and and install new software for fun. Reboot is difficult in production. Or you are in maintenance / test mode and you'd just do a reboot.
