You're describing a deep data structure. There is organization implied by that, and I think that you may benefit from an OO approach that modularizes data access. If a chunk of data appears to be similar to all the others at its level, it is an object and deserves a module.

Lady_Aleena, You might want to look at perlboot, perlbot and perltoot. Also, the Perl Object Oriented Meta-Tutorial has some nice links. I tend to set my limit at 2-3 levels of nested structures. Anything more than that gets converted to OO style. Good luck with your project. TGI says moo	[reply]
