Anonymous Monk has asked for the wisdom of the Perl Monks concerning the following question:

what's the cleanest way to shrink two Math::BigInt objects in order to do a division which will give a float result? The two BigInt numbers are known to be small enough to survive translation into standard ints.

pressed for time, I just made them into bigfloats before dividing... but it seems that it would be more efficient to make them into standard ints.

    never mind... just needed some coffee. Feel free to moderate into oblivion as I've now answered my own question...
    print "this works: ", "$five"/"$four", "\n";
