File browser window

moked has asked for the wisdom of the Perl Monks concerning the following question:

Hi All

I'm seeking help about using a pop up of a windows browser
in order to give the user the option to brows for the file he wants.
Since I could not find an option like this in Tk
I would appreciate it if anyone can help me with coding this

Tk::getOpenFile uses the native dialogue under windows. If you want to have a dialogue for selecting directories then Tk::chooseDirectory is a good choice. For a comparision of File Selectors check out this review on perltk.org	[reply]

I'm still learning about Tk myslf, but I saw a reference to a method called DirTree for displaying a directory tree. I hope that'll give you a jumping off point to find what you need.	[reply]
