I have a fun little site called the quote cache:

http://quotes.prolix.nu

I thought (one day, bored of course) that I could hook the backend into some kind of XML generater, so I could use the quotes elsewhere, mainly I wanted a way to grab a random quote every 6 hours or so and have that written to my .sig file, which was on another server

So I created this:

http://quotes.prolix.nu/cgi-bin/random_xml_quote.cgi

This script will output a random literary quote in XML format for your enjoyment.(here's an html version

I also created a script that'll take in the XML and format it into HTML, here's the link: http://www.skazat.com/design/scripts/quote_viewer.html

Its made to be used on a personal website, I'm sure you guys can hack it to make it write a .sig file.

on mi mac, netscape 4 was able to mount my website as another hard drive and retrive the sig file from there.

have fun,
