    Did you install your Tk via yum or via CPAN, apparently there is a difference (see comment in discussion with zentara). I had no idea. Thanks again for helping!

      Er... uhm, yes. I did build my own, based on the Fedora source package, since an essential Tk desktop application I use every day bombed off. I don't remember where I got the patches from, but here are the rpms:

      The patches are included in the source rpm.
