noon has asked for the wisdom of the Perl Monks concerning the following question:
I tried quick apache packages (wamp, xampp) with perl addons but have had two results 1)source code prints 2)I get generic apache error messages like "Server Error! CGI script problem!"
On xampp, I checked the apache error logs and have 3 common errors
1)Premature end of script headers (putting print "Content-type... didnt help)
2)Can't locate CGI.pm in @INC (how can perl not come bundled with this?)
3)Compilation aborted at line6 (line6=use CGI qw(:standard);)
Just want CGI running quickly and effortlessly, help MUCH appreciated
Update: Here's my apache config file as well as my script im attempting to run.
my apache config file --#!"C:\Documents and Settings\nau6342\Desktop\xampp\perl\bin\perl.exe" use CGI qw(:standard); use strict; use warnings; use Fcntl ':flock'; # import LOCK_* constants my $username = param("username"); open(OUTFILE, ">$username.txt") or die("The file: $username.txt could +not be opened: $!"); flock(OUTFILE,LOCK_EX); # Lock the file for writing my($password, $fname, $lname, $address, $city, $state, $phone, $dob) = + (param("pwd"), param("firstname"), param("lastname"), param("s +treet"), param("city"), param("state"), param("phone"), param("birthd +ay")); print OUTFILE "$username\n$password\n$fname\n$lname\n$address\n$city\n +$state\n$phone\n$dob"; # Write to the file flock(OUTFILE,LOCK_UN); # Unlock the file close(OUTFILE);
# # This is the main Apache HTTP server configuration file. It is recommended that you always supply # an explicit drive letter in absolute paths, however, to avoid # confusion. # # ThreadsPerChild: constant number of worker threads in the server pro +cess # MaxRequestsPerChild: maximum number of requests a server process se +rves ThreadsPerChild 250 MaxRequestsPerChild 0 # # ServerRoot: The top of the directory tree under which the server's # configuration, error, and log files are kept. # # Do not add a slash at the end of the directory path.
