Drewsky has asked for the wisdom of the Perl Monks concerning the following question:

Oh Great and Wise Monks...
I am trying to compile a version of Crypt-Blowfish and am encountering this error (using NMAKE from Microsoft's Visual c++ version 9.0):
NMAKE : fatal error U1077: '"C:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio 9.0\VC\bin\cl.EXE"' : return code '0xc0000135'
Any advice would be appreciated. I have already tried reloading the application.
Thanks,

It could be that the environment (paths, etc.) isn't set up properly... I dimly remember having gotten similarly useful messages in that case. Try executing VCVARS32.BAT (should be found in the bin directory) before rerunning nmake.

almut- That did the tirck! Thanks so very much!
