What problems did you have with Tk?
As far as I know Gtk2 should also work on windows. It definitely works well on linux. Also check out wxPerl.

Tk will be the easiest, since it comes with ActiveState Perl. Gtk2 is still hard to install on windows. It would probably be easier to use Tk, and ask for help to solve whatever problems you have with it.

If you fancy the ncurses style route, then look at Term::ANSIColour and Term::ANSIScreen.
Win32 doesn't support ANSI sequences directly, but by loading Win32::Console::ANSI on that platform anything you do with the above two modules will work there.

There is also wxWindows, and the wxPerl wrapper. I haven't written a full app using it, just played with a few simple test cases, but it looks like it is very full featured, and has great cross platform support. | [reply] |
One might also consider a web application. Frameworks like Catalyst and browsers with javascript can do amazing things these days.
