Out of interest which post did you find "a bit dis-heartning"? Your conclusion that 'Perl Monks isn't for me." confuses me slightly since the final post in your first thread states "Thanks everyone, the response was overwhelming. I can see I'm going to like this forum".

Regards other forums, did you try using a search engine to find one? IMHO there are no other Perl related forums that are as helpful as this one. Why not just post here, get the help you are looking for, and ignore whatever it is that upsets you?
