In the end, this is a profession, not a religion. We're paid to deliver usable tools and solutions, using Perl to do it, and we have to find our own balance-point per situation. There are no silver bullets. There are no open books.

    I thought it was rather that there are as many open books as you need or want, or reasonably have time for?

    Care to elaborate on the final sentence?
