I do threee things to find modules.
  1. As neat things come up in the CPAN nodelet, I check them out. 10% of the time, this works for me.
  2. If I need something, I ask mst or someone else in #catalyst or #dbix-class. 90% of the time, this works for me.
  3. If those two don't work, I write it, then release it.

My criteria for good software:
  1. Does it work?
  2. Can someone else come in, make a change, and be reasonably certain no bugs were introduced?
