In other words, you have an Oracle error (ORA-01401: inserted value too large for column) and you want Spreadsheet::ParseExcel to fix it?
My criteria for good software:
  1. Does it work?
  2. Can someone else come in, make a change, and be reasonably certain no bugs were introduced?

    I don't think the OP wants Spreadsheet::ParseExcel to fix an oracle error.

    I see >19K of the text of a stack trace stored in one cell in his spreadsheet, not a problem with Oracle. It could just as easily be 19280 digits of pi.

      bman is right. I do not want to fix an oracle error. As far as I am concerned, someone just stored a blob of characters in an entry of the spreadsheet and this makes it unparseable by the module. It might as well have been the first N digits of pi of the first chapter of a Shakespeare book.
