rebeltofu has asked for the wisdom of the Perl Monks concerning the following question:

Dear Monks, I'm trying to use inline C with ActivePerl 5.10.0 on a Windows XP machine. I've tried everything I can find in help files and various websites to get it to work, but I continue to get the error: 'cl' is not recognized as an internal or external command I've installed Visual C++ 6.0 and downloaded nmake15 from msdn and I've also tried Visual C++ 8.0 with the included nmake utility. Can someone please, please help? Do I need to be running my perl scripts from certain directories? Or have the cl.exe and nmake in certain places? I'm so confused!

    rebeltofu,
AS Perl has worked with MinGW out of the box for some time now. Have you tried that route?
