Hey, Monk, don't make it bad
Take a bad code and make it better
Remember the strict and warnings pragmas
Then you debug to make it better

Hey, Monk, don't be afraid
We all are here to give you a hand
As long as you read the friendly manual
You can begin to ask for help.

And any time your program crash, hey, Monk, relax
Your brethren are here to share the burden
Well don't you know that it's a shame to waste your time
Reinventing the wheel for fear of asking?

Hey, Monk! Don't give it up
You can make it, your project working
Remember the strict and warnings pragmas
Then you debug to make it better

And now that you are here in, hey, Monk, begin
To give your own help to someone needing
And don't believe that it's just you, hey, Monk,
We do, the Monastery is here to work together

Hey, Monk, don't make it bad
Take a bad code and make it better
Remember the strict and warnings pragmas
Then you debug to make it better

Update Today I realized that some of my brethren Perl Monks are not old enough to recognize (or even to have ever heard) the original Hey Jude ballad by The Beatles.

It's sad to see the world growing old while I myself seem to remain always the same... So, to give you a little background, I googled a little and found this link to the original lyrics and this to a live recording of the song.

Rule One: Do not act incautiously when confronting a little bald wrinkly smiling man.

Wait a second, is this a perlmonk-rewrite of the Monkeys Beatle's song "Hey Jude"?
*raises eyebrow* I thought it looked somewhat familiar.

Yep. Too late I realized that not so many monks here are old enough to recognize a song from the sixties...

    Very good

Though, there is the second half of the song to consider.

Bug, bug, lets squash that bug, hey monk!
Bug, bug, lets squash that bug, hey monk!
Bug, bug, lets squash that bug, hey monk!
Monk, monk, monk, a monk a monk ow!
