In his latest diary entry, Damian Conway mentions a review he's undertaken of the 360-odd Perl 6 RFCs. This process has lead to a design document that Damian describes as Perl 5+i, which is a look at what might happen if Damian was in charge of Perl 6 language design. It's an interesting read.

    Mr C seems to stress that this is not Perl 6, but all the same this is excellent brain food... I liked the named capture of bracketed items with parenthesis in regex:

    m/^(?$foo:\d)/ print "Foo is $foo\n";
    It's certainly better than learning Parrot  ;o)
