I don't understand CSS very well, but I thought I would report that the appearance of perlmonks changed after I upgraded to firefox-3.0.1. I use my own custom colors to override web pages..... a black background and burnt orange text, this is done in my browser's color settings. Under firefox-2x, the Chatterbox entry, supersearch entry, and node reply text boxes, all were my color....orange on black. Under firefox-3.0.1, those items all changed to the normal black on white. It looks good....I'm just reporting it for possible discussion.

That's interesting. It sounds like FF2 and FF3 are implementing color settings in relation to page-specified styles differently. Judging by things we see in the FF3 feature list, this looks likely. There's probably not much we can do about it on this end, and until FF3 is a little more stable, we probably shouldn't worry about it.

Between the mind which plans and the hands which build, there must be a mediator... and this mediator must be the heart.
I was thinking it might be an effect of the Gtk2 theme engine. The default Gtk2 theme for your system is set in ~.gtk2rc. Maybe they try to overide your theme color internally in firefox, or there is some other weirdness.

In my user settings, all StyleSheet settings are empty. My personal color changes are down in my browser color settings.
