Here's the original story from my end:

- Oeufmayo /msgs me asking if I have a /. account as he's getting headlines in his e-mail directed to me
- I check out /. and find my name has been registered, with Oeufmayo's e-mail address, and three trollish messages (e.g.) posted on April 2, 2001 (Perlmonks was mentioned in the messages)
- I find that you can't delete or edit messages on /. - Bah!
- I went to the login screen, requested that my password be e-mailed to "me"
- Good Abbot Oeufmayo changed the password and sent me the new one so my nick is again mine!

As to your questions:

• it's not bad as it can only serve to reduce nausea everywhere, and /.'s own FAQ says that unused accounts can't hurt (they must have a million already anyway)
• I am interested in protecting my nick (up until today I figured nobody would want to use it but I hadn't considered being imtrollsonated (a great word coined by tye))
• What sites is my question too. All the sites I use now have a pretty limited audience so I'm interested in hearing suggestions.
