days in a month

Anonymous Monk has asked for the wisdom of the Perl Monks concerning the following question:

perl monks, Is there a way that given a certain month in a particular year that you can return the number of days in that month? I know that days are constant except for leap year, but how can I use the localtime or time functions to input two days and get the difference between them? thank you

Try running a search: index.pl?node=leap%20year%20time%20calculation That yeilded How do I determine if a given year is a leap year? and Reaped: Answer: Leap Year for the leap year question. There are also several other nodes there with similar questions and the ever popular Time modules from CPAN. That lead me to: Time::DaysInMonth.pm	[reply]

Check out the `Days_in_Month` routine from the Date::Calc module, which might already be installed on your system. If not, it's certainly available from CPAN and, I'm almost positive, from PPM as well. Chris M-x auto-bs-mode	[reply] [d/l]

I don't know what your end use is, but if it's HTML, you can try HTML::CalendarMonth. Search the CPAN it is your friend. You can turn up such gems as Locale::Hebrew::Calendar or Date::Tolkien::Shire. Get Strong Together!!	[reply]
