tallulah has asked for the wisdom of the Perl Monks concerning the following question:

i have a problem with the GUI Loft, the programs designed with it are launched after 10 seconds, this is happened with win32gui v1.04 - v1.05- v1.06 but not with older versions, are there anyone who have a cure to this problem since it is a very good software.
may be there is an implicit warnings are issued (ie without displaying it)even if i remove "use warnings", such a warnings as:
'use Win32::GUI;' is currently exporting constants into the callers scope. This functionality is deprecated. Use 'use Win32::GUI();' or list your required exports explicitly instead. at C:/Perl/site/lib/Win32/GUI/Loft/Design.pm line 31
i can't repair the problem even i use 'use Win32::GUI();' as instructed
and i have tried it with the latest version of activestate perl and also with strawberry perl
thanks for any advice.

I was doing some stuff with GUI LOFT a year or two ago. I also found it very useful but I ran into bugs (not unlike yours as I recall) that I couldn't get resolved and couldn't get any help on. I had the impression that the developer lost interest or got busy with other things.

I wound up just going to Perl Tk. You might save yourself a lot of time and frustration by doing the same. It's not nearly as straightforward but it's more reliable and you can find support when you need it.

Or if you're really brave, you can wade into Win32::GUI.

    Good Luck....Steve
