I can't say for sure what Your Mother meant, but the reference to error logs made me think of a web server's error log. I've worked at more than one place where the web server error log was perpetually filling with warning messages from sloppy code and other debugging debris.

Lots of times its because -w was used instead of `use warnings;`	[reply] [d/l]
