Obviously no one dislikes being thanked (and you can always send a private /msg), but there is really only one main mode of giving thanks here on perlmonks - considering other's questions. You might feel like a noob, but there will soon be people less experienced at Perl than you.

Perlmonks is a friendly place, where not only are no questions stupid but (within reason) no answers are stupid. So check Seekers of Perl Wisdom from time to time to learn from others' questions and also to pitch in :)
