As I just told you in a /msg, because you both msg'ed me and posted this here (grrr), you need to verify that the "ExecCGI" option is on for the area in question, and that your .htaccess file is actually doing something. You can check the latter by putting a syntax error into the file, and then visiting a URL in the controlled area—if you don't get "error 500", then your .htaccess file is impotent.
