Anonymous Monk has asked for the wisdom of the Perl Monks concerning the following question:

Monks, I have wriiten a perl script that connects to a website via http and pulls down a file from an href listed on the web page. this has been working fine until the fine folks changed the file to a zipped file. Now when I try to pull it down, I get a hex file that includes the http headers. Is there a better way or easier way?

Thanks,

Obviously as anyone can see by the germane code sample you helpfully provided the problem is on line 23 . . .
