Which PDF version is it? (first line the file). If you have control over the generated files, maybe you can save to an older version and work around the problem.

Otherwise, try to get in touch with the author(s) of the module that does what you need (they're quite different) and see if they could update their code to support the new format.

Was there a solution found on this? I am having the same problem with PDF version 1.3 based on the PDF file header: %PDF-1.3 Any help would be appreciated.	[reply]

I have the same problem. Files created in acrobat 9 get the "malformed xref" error. Anyone interested in solving this? I'll kick in for some hours.	[reply]

What work for me is.. When saving the pdf in Adobe Acrobat 9, I saved it as Adobe PDF File Optimized (PDF) > Settings > Clean Up > Object compression options "Remove compression"	[reply]
