From all of the above, I only know "Cheers", which I find too old-fashioned. So I voted for Real-Bars.

I followed the links, but that doesn't tell me the story behind the bar for many of them

    Some of the bars listed are famous because of the work of fiction they are a part of (Casablanca, Star Wars, the Harry Potter books, etc.). Some are famous because they are a plot device for stories to be told at (like the White Hart, where Arthur C. Clarke had patrons telling tales to one another, or Callhan's, where Spider Robinson did something similar).

    I don't drink, but I read voraciously and love old movies. Some of the places listed above are old friends. I hoped the links would help jog the memory of others (just as people who suggested some of the names helped jog mine).
