Flash based solutions already exist, however most people I have seen who wish to do this sort of thing use Skype. If none of these options suit you, a google search returns many other options.

    ekiga ( formally GnomeMeeting ) appears to be a free/open SKYPE replacement. I've used it once or twice. Seemed to work prety well.
